“Threw”? Not me, I carried them to the door, put them under the doormat or between the screen-door and main door. Safe delivery earns tips. I had two routes from age 8 to 14 when I got a real (after school) job. Started early but then I did retire at age 47 too.
Did a morning route of 3 miles 7 days a week. I just have to laugh at the thinking nowadays that teens are biologically incapable of getting up early. I was up every morning at 5 to fold and stuff the papers before riding out and getting back about 6:30. Never had trouble staying awake in school or functioning. (Of course I was usually in bed by 9 pm.)

Ah, the old paper route days. I carried a paper from 10 to 17. Morning route; later added an afternoon route.

The good old days when kids earned the money. My route bought me a bunch of baseball cards.

My regular paper-person is a senior woman who is trying to make ends meet.

I knew a guy in H.S that bought a 58 Corvette with his paper route money, it was 1962.
