Meanwhile, Trumpsters are whining that members of Congress are not releasing their taxes. Of course, if and when Schumer and Pelosi decide to run for prez, they will do so. This was never about every member of Congress releasing his/her tax returns, it is about the fact that every prez and prez candidate since Nixon has done so.
Obviously, my joke about the “documentary” on Fox was about the “Family Guy” episode co-starring that dead animal on Trump’s head. And it’s not a “fishing expedition” to investigate an organized crime outfit. Which the Trump Outfit manifestly IS. The three reasons Trump doesn’t want his tax returns made public: He doesn’t have anywhere close to the money that he lies about having, even nowdays when he takes bribes from foreign governments. He pays very little in taxes because of the loopholes—the results of bribes. True, bribes that were paid before Trump entered politics, but as they say, the optics would be bad. And, finally, Trump makes so much money from Russia that even William Barr might notice!

Mr. Nadler is using his power for partisan political purposes. Not surprising, but this particular method should cause all people to be upset.
He has the power to demand the tax returns of ANY person or company. The intent of the law was not to allow Congress to go on fishing expeditions.
