Barr’s silly little letter purporting to summarize the extremely lengthy Mueller Report reminded me of the old Woody Allen joke: “I’ve learned to speed read, and I just finished ‘War and Peace.’ It involves Russia.” (An unintended bonus joke in this instance!)
Everybody knows it, but it still needs to be said: Nobody was exonerated. Barr only sais, that he doesn’t find proof in the report that Trump himself colluded. In a criminal case, knowing not enough means “not guilty”. This does not mean what it means in everydays language. And we didn’t see the Mueller report yet. A four-paged summary is no sufficient source for the real thing, only a hint. And that everybody would believe what they believed before anyhow was clear from the start. All human and normal here.
