Industrial hemp is not a drug and cannot get anyone “high”.
The 2018 federal farm bill, championed by a Republican Congress and signed by a Republican president, legalized cultivation of industrial hemp nationally. South Dakota state lawmakers voted 75 – 24 in favor. Montana and Wyoming farmers [notoriously conservative states] grow hemp and have not had any of the imaginary problems Ms. Noem claimed hemp would cause.
Ms. Noem said since Hemp and marijuana plants look similar, S.D. police would become confused and that legalizing hemp would lead to legalizing pot.
Who knew there was a political swamp in South Dakota? Ms. Noem is either a control freak, an idiot, or is so fragile that the political “optics” of such a straightforward issue have her frightened. South Dakota farmers need all the help they can get – and they’re not gettin’ any from the current governor.
I wonder if South Dakota cops get confused and try to bust folks coming out of drug stores with rubbing alcohol in brown paper bags? I sure can’t tell the difference.
Englische Sprache, schwerer Sprache to quote a friend of mine on the difficulties of written English. Eg., there, their, they’re, your, you’re, yore (as shown above), waste, waist, leach, leech, here, hear. One can go on for ever.
Hey, even when five of us are all proofing the same paper, we still miss stuff! It just happened in our group Friday.
