If only we could solve the climate and energy crises by powering the world with BS cartoons. Then Payne could finally say with all honesty that he is a productive member of society.
The deal was made by the Governor, Mayor, and City Council. Congress had NOTHING to do with it. She’s one Congresswoman, and it isn’t even her district. So how is she to blame, exactly?
She’s not, of course. The right-wingers are just terrified of her, and think they can use it as a wedge issue. So they’re just going, “Oooh! It’s in Queens! Let’s blame AOC!”
By the way, NYC added 71,000 jobs last year from companies we didn’t have to give money to, and that PAY taxes. We have 4,000,000 jobs. Stop like acting like 25,000 is the end of the world. This isn’t Worms, Nebraska.
And what about all the brick-and-mortar stores Amazon drives out of business? What about THOSE jobs? How is it fair to the local book store struggling to keep its door open for the Government to hand money to its competition? And to make a giant company tax free when its competition has to pay taxes?
Handing money to the biggest company in its class encourages the growth of monopoly, and that’s ALWAYS bad for the economy.
But these capitalists – “Government should not interfere with business! Unless they screw small businesses by handing cash to a giant business,, that’s ok.”
Too many problems in this cartoon to address them all. Suffice to say 25,000 jobs were not lost: they will just be somewhere else, where they are needed more.
The continuation of Obama era policies are actually slowing down as Trump dismantles them.
Amazon was demanding they change the city for them while not paying a dime in taxes. It is time for corporations to stop holding cities hostage for the “honor” of having them open up the latest sweat shop.
I wish that deal had gone better. I supported it, and whatever your thoughts on it, it had wide support, especially among minorities, the poor, and queens residents. In effect, a minority of mainly white, mainly privileged, detractors decided it.
Politicians wanted to spend billions of tax payer money for Amazon, New Yorkers didn’t. Good ole Jeff gave the Whole Foods workers raise to $15 and then cut there hours. Americans are brainwashed by the corporate media, so they are not well informed. Reckon we know where Mr. Payne gets his news.

Thank Ghod he finally had a chance to draw a car! I’m sure he must have been quite uncomfortable over the last few days without.
Oh, yeah: That comment up there: Every bit as appropriate as his comic and true to boot!

Are 4 million jobs ( if that’s even accurate ) worth more than the future of mankind ?

To be fair she didn’t eliminate 25,K jobs, she just made sure they weren’t in or near her district. The jobs will simply exist someplace else.

Amazing, she has only been in office a few months and she is the cause of the world’s problems while the top moron is blameless.

As usual, Payne gives an opinion which is not reality-based!

The only jobs Trump created are those for his family members in the White House.

The Trump wagon is a big, fat, wasteful eyesore, while the AOC car is a more pleasant and reasonable vehicle. Well done!
