And what about our failing infrastructure? Who will fail to do anything about that if we adopt Democratic socialism?

Corporate Socialism is the worst Socialism, even worse than Stalin, just slower and wider spread in the amount of death and destruction it wreaks.

Smear campaign? Bring it on old elephant breath.

There will come a time — maybe 2020, maybe later — when Americans aren’t afraid of our own shadows anymore. We gonna get so sick of all the propaganda and isms that people will start asking the hard questions and insisting that anybody who wants the job of representing us answers them and follows through.

If we’re still addicted to isms in 2020 it’s more likely to be realism. The Republicans have shot their wad [what a ghastly thing it was] and have no idea what to do here in the 21st century.

If progressive Americans vote the future is ours — and it won’t come with any isms attached. The U.S. is a democracy and the sooner people realize that people can determine their own future the better.

I hope all of you are willing to live with shortages and rationing; followed by the totalitarian state in order to control the ensuing black markets.

Fortunately, WestNYC’s opinion is not shared by a large majority of Americans. Now if we can only take control of the political structures from the oligarchs who do think like that.

Repost: Call it socialism or whatever you want, but something has got to change or the system will collapse

“As the United States begins the process of choosing the next president and Congress, we need to talk more openly about which candidates are most likely to deliver the economic policies that the supermajority wants. Yes, the people can be wrong about things, but so too can experts, embedded industry groups and divisive political factions. It is not a concession to populism, but rather a respect for democracy, to suggest that two-thirds of the population should usually get what they ask for.”

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/05/opinion/oppression-majority.html

“The law needs to catch up. Anti-competitive practices should be illegal, period. And beyond that, there are a host of other changes needed to modernize US antitrust legislation. Americans’ need the same resolve in fighting for competition that their corporations have shown in fighting against it.

The challenge, as always, is political. But with US corporations having amassed so much power, there is reason to doubt that the American political system is up to the task of reform. Add to that the globalization of corporate power and the orgy of deregulation and crony capitalism under Trump, and it is clear that Europe will have to take the lead."

The Dems are socialists? LOL. They would be considered “conservatives” in most European countries. Now, what Bernie and Alexandria want… is absolutely mainstream in Sweden, Denmark, or Germany. The Green New Deal is the actual policy of these countries for many years, and their ideas about full-covering medicare for all, statutory pension schemes and unlimited unemployment-benefits had been implemented in Germany by Bismarck between 1880 and 1890.

Real capitalism is a form of socialism. The complaint is with plutocratic capitalism.
