The VT house passed H.57 which effectively prohibits all restrictions on abortion. No restrictions on when, no restrictions on age or requirements for 13 year-olds to get parental permission, etc. It now seems to be the M.O. of dems to build a wall of laws around Roe v. Wade in every state possible out of fear that SCOTUS may one day rule that it’s not ok to kill an unborn child 3 minutes before delivery.
Yup. Mr. Varvel lives in a fantasy world where all babies are wanted. The reality is that many of them are not wanted and often born with addiction. Then, they are a burden in the foster home situation. There are not sufficient assets and support to take care of these matters. One really good remedy is to allow birth control devices, however, many staunch republicans believe that this would lead to excessive promiscuous sex. Well, the statistics shows that such excessive sex exists and will exists for the future so why don’t we try at least one inexpensive remedy (birth control)? Go figure
“Infanticide” is killing a baby that has been born…he/she survived the shot that was supposed to kill them in the womb just before delivery. I have no idea how anyone, Dr. or no, can proceed to kill them after delivery….
I would argue that right-wingers are responsible for most abortions. Why? 1) They oppose sex education and available birth control — which would precipitously reduce the number of needed abortions. 2) Their policies more than any other increase poverty, which is associated with unwanted/unfeasible pregnancies. 3) They oppose health covereage for all at an affordable rate. More covereage is shown to lead to fewer abortions. And as an extra, countries with the harshest abortion laws have the highest abortion rates — so pushing the laws isn’t going to reduce the rate of abortion. It’s almost as if the right wing WANTS more abortions.

Come on Mr. Varvel, is that the best you can do? No points for originality.

Mr. Varvel would rather they could be born and live in misery as he in no way supports any social programs for the BORN!

Pale rider cometh on a donkey? Somehow that’s less threatening and scary.

As I have said before this cartoon is a pretty nasty portrait of the medical profession. Mr. Varvel might want to avoid going to see a doctor.
