Very good. To the republican senator, as the judge said in “Midnight in the garden of good and evil”, you went there…

There is a take-home from Hanoi for those Republican legislators and judges who are afraid of Trump but want to retain backbones and morals by making choices based upon their consciences.

Notice first that Trump gave up two things before negotiations even began, even removing the demand for inspections, so Kim knew he might as well ask for the moon. Notice, too, that Kim used an old humiliation trick that any of the old State Dept hands in Asia would have known about. But, WAIT, among the first things Trump did when he got into office were to fire much of the State Dept, demote many of the remaining knowledgeable people, and appoint his own ignorant crowd. So, Trump had no way to know that the use of a chair that is too big (making the person look like a child) or too small (making the person look like an ape) might be tried. A skilled negotiator would have practiced sitting in chairs of the wrong size or chosen to stand, but Trump instead looks like an aged and unhappy orangutan. The summit just wasted U.S. prestige, time, and money as it collapse with nothing done.

Then it got worse. After being totally humiliated Trump then decided to insist that Kim knew nothing about the prison death of that young American. Let’s face facts, Kim holds power as tightly as Trump holds his own money, and that was an important issue.

Kim has done two things that Trump likes, though: he is a dictator and he heaped shallow praise all over Trump. Now our officials (hopefully) can not become dictators, but I bet they can figure out some really great shallow praise. So, a note to those Republicans who want to vote their consciences by voting against Trump: Do a “Kim”. Get out the buttercream frosting and feel free to deliver that turd to Trump. Just be sure first that you frost and decorate it very well!

Now that Trump has been shot down in Hanoi, does that make him a war hero?

Yes, Mikey Cohen is a liar, both under oath (occasionally) and not under oath (frequently). But Trump was lying habitually, compulsively, and pathetically, DECADES before Cohen had the misfortune of meeting him!

Why the hell there isn’t a “Liar Liar” poster at every Trump rally, every Trump Cabinet meeting, and (it is devoutly to be wished) in Trump’s prison cell, is beyond me.

@SukieCrandall, from above (and sorry for posting this same thing today onto yesterday’s cartoon!):

Excellent points, although I don’t know of any Republicans who are afraid of Trump, in and of himself. (I’m pretty sure Melania could beat him up, and I KNOW Ivanka could.) They are scared of Trump VOTERS, and, quite frankly, so should anybody who prizes democracy be afraid of the damn things. Quick note to Congressional Republicans: being primaried is NOT the end of the world. There’s this whole thing called the “private sector”, you see…….

In response to SukieCrandall inquiring if being shot down in Hanoi makes Trump a war hero – fortunately it doesn’t make him a war hero. This makes him a “zero” – and a zero isn’t always a hero

Since Trump said himself that anyone who is shot down and captured are not heroes in his eyes. So it goes for him times infinity.
