It was the “Pull my finger,” that did it.
The jester just didn’t realize he WAS the punchline.
The jester’s first hint of trouble was after he told the king a hard-to-believe story, and the king’s comment was, “That’s a stretch…”
He made a snide comment and added “I’m just pulling your leg”; which gave the king an idea.
Now he’d doin’ his Rodney Dangerfield routine, “I get no respect”.
All I said was “the King is a fink!”
Great color job.
No, that guy can’t take a “bad” joke…
