The anti-vaccine movement — parents deciding not to vaccinate children — is not parental suicide, it is CHILD ABUSE that may lead to CHILD MURDER. And not just their own children, but those children who may be too young to begin vaccinations, or with compromised immune systems or other LEGITIMATE medical reasons that prevent immunizing, or very old people.

Clearly there is a war against science — opposing real scientists on climate change, evolution, vaccinations, still even some holdouts on tobacco dangers — and now even a resurgent of Flat Earth medieval ignorance as well as belief in a geocentric solar system.

CONservatives are waging a war against education because they depend on a gullible and uneducated electorate to sucker for their POOPaganda.

This just about says it all. It is cruel to subject children to un-vaccinated children.

But what about my next door neighbor’s uncle’s best friend’s step daughter’s son who almost died after getting a vaccine?

Good one, Jim. Yes, we’re proving that a free society is risky. The nut cases are just as free as everyone else.

How do you get anti-vaxxers to vaccinate their kids? Talk to them — for hours. Statistics and shaming tactics don’t persuade anxious parents. Here’s what does.

The doctor [Wakefield] whose study triggered a collapse in public confidence in the combined measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine told a disciplinary panel last week that he made up details of his son’s birthday party—at which he took blood samples from several children—when giving a speech in California.

Last year, the Lancet formally retracted Wakefield’s study. Ten of the 13 authors had earlier done the same. Wakefield has since been stripped of his medical license in Britain.

But the BMJ investigation by journalist Brian Deer found that five of the 12 children in Wakefield’s paper had symptoms before the MMR shots. One girl turned out to have a heart disorder. Her symptoms disappeared after it was treated. The report claims three of the children turned out to not have autism at all and only one was eventually diagnosed with the regressive form of it described in Wakefield’s paper.

Anti-vacine folks just want to keep our child mortality higher than the third world so we can hold a record, screw their kids.

Was in Japan and Taiwan in the 1950s as a preteen. I was vaccinated against everything, a series of shots over several weeks. No ill effects.

Did you know there is a reservoir of the polio virus in other primates? Polio may have been eliminated in humans, however all polio needs to stage a comeback, is to stop the vaccinations. I’m old enough to remember the fear the summer would bring to some. That’s when the polio outbreaks would occur. Rich or poor, it didn’t care.

You can’t address this topic without also addressing the source of the new infections.

Parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids are dangerously stupid. But the anti-vax movement was not a serious problem until we (the US) started busing illegal aliens all over the damn country.

This nation did not have a reservoir of measles, mumps, chicken pox and the like for many decades. The chances of an vaccinated child encountering any of these diseases was so small at to be meaningless. The anti-vaxxers were protected by the very vaccines they oppose.

Today we have a different situation. 10-15 years of illegals moving freely around the country. Tens of thousands of unvaccinated children are flowing into our communities. For 99.9% of our kids it is no problem. But for those who haven’t been vaccinated it becomes a major health risk, even potentially ending in death.

There are still in excess of 10,000 measles DEATHS in the world each year.
