May I inquire as to who, in actual fact, is Wilhelmina Brown?

The only Wilhelmina Brown my cursory Google reveals is an Austin, TX model agency full of anorexic scarecrows, so I am somewhat at a loss, but not deeply enough to do actual research.

    I thank you in advance.

Fat shaming. Sigh. Even the oppressed need someone to oppress. Fat people are a safe target. With over 70% of Americans overweight or obese, you’d think we’d stop pretending it’s just a willpower problem and try to find a cure for this deadly disease.

This is a sly reference to Her Majesty, who was referred to as “Mrs. Brown” after the death of Albert and after she came under the influence of John Brown, a Scottish servant. He dominated her for a number of years. Rumors held that she had a sexual relationship with him and that they may have even been secretly married. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrs_Brown the 1997 film starring Judi Dench.

Yes, heavy set people are the new “n-words”—-this is a truly disgusting and offensive cartoon, and I’m not grossly obese and defending my gluttony.

I think Oscar would’ve been a better poet than that.
