I think schools should teach basic survival skills like swimming (or at least treading water), balancing a checkbook, parachute landing falls (if you know how to do them you are less likely to get injured in a fall) and cooking and nutrition (how to make a meal that is both healthy and economical).
Advanced survival school includes: how to read a newspaper or recognize biases in newscasts, critical thinking and how to spot and avoid scams especially in social engineering.
