Now that Mattis has “retired”, he is free to criticize Trump all day and night—and he damn well should. So should all retired military personnel, and all current members of Congress. (I’m not holding my breath.) For those who wonder about “respecting the office of the president”, why should anybody else when Trump clearly doesn’t?

If you remember, after Trump received Mattis’ resignation, he didn’t realize that it insulted him until someone explained it.

Consider the idea that Mattis was a sort of spy and control over Trump.
