The House no longer accurately represents the American voters proportionately. In successful businesses, you have to demonstrate a viable, measurable ROI to justify an item of expenditure. Why not in the House?
Since this administration has already incurred a $15,000,000,000,000 deficit (from the GOP, the party of “fiscal responsibility” no less), another $5,000,000,000 sounds almost laughable. (If it weren’t so serious.)
Roberta Ates I got no problem with a wall, if the people who want it pay for it. Since they won’t have any right to build it across anyone’s property, they are going to wind up paying big bucks to anyone who wants it ( and who doesn’t), so that wall is going to cost more than they expect. But, looks like a win-win to me. The folks who just donated $9 million dollars to a wall didn’t donate it to Republican candidates, and the more of that they choose to do, the better I like it.
Roberta, Even if the gofundme account for a southern wall was donated to the government, it cannot be designated for the wall without special legislation. It would go into the general revenue and be spend with all the other revenue.
How do they make sure this money gets to the right department in the government that is building the wall? I didn’t do an extensive search but this is all I could find about gifts to the government.
