    I forgot Linus was basically a baby when the strip began. He grew up a lot compared to the other characters. (Just started following Peanuts Begins last week, it’s fun!)

    Our bottles had a constriction a few inches from the top where the cream separated. The dairy supplied a tool you insert to the constriction and pour off the cream if you wanted cream.

    And in winter the milk would freeze and stick an inch or so out of the bottle.

    Our house used to have that little door by the backdoor, opened into a little box, built into the exterior wall. The milkman would put the milk in from outside and we’d open it from the little door on the inside.
