Be Prepared is the Boy Scout motto. Cub Scouts have Do Your Best. And of course, Charlie Brown is too young to be in scouting. Even first graders were excluded up until 1982 when they introduced Tiger Cubs (and even then they were considered a separate program from regular Cub Scouts until 2001).

Wow – this must have been a long time ago. You can’t have an open flame / fire in the city I live in unless it is in a barbeque grill.

Shades of Jack London. Good going Charlie Brown. I hope your little bottom isn’t stuck to the frozen pavement.

Stay warm and cozy everyone, and enjoy a happy and healthy new year.

I’d say you’re late, Violet. Charlie Brown had more than enough time to leave, gather firewood (and, unless he knows the friction method of rubbing two sticks together to start a fire, matches too), return, build a fire, then add some larger logs to get it going nice and toasty.
