It’s a shame Goodell has never had his bell rung in a helmet to helmet hit or even better, a helmet to helmetless head hit. Of course it’s also possible that Goodell has been rammed in the head & that’s why his thinking is so warped, as he has lost all common sense, that is if he ever had any in the first place!

The refs missed the helmet hit on Rivers the other night, then granted a phantom pass-interference call to make up for it right after. The “Ok we missed that one but gave you this one instead” karma balancing.

    Player safety.

Let’s discuss that.League insists on having a Thursday night game after teams have played on Sunday? Check.

League wants to go to 18 games and offers up the miniature carrot of losing 2 exhibition games? Check. Yes, I said exhibition games as that’s just what they are.

Anyone truly believe that the league/owners really cares about player safety? Pssst. Over here. Want a Rolex? I got plenty.

Goodell hides behind The Shield. The owners won’t do anything until they get hit in the wallet.

If vicous hits (whether helmet-to-helmet or not) weren’t re-played by TV, would football still be the national pastime?

College handles the helmet to helmet or “targeting” the right way. They do review the potential infraction, and if found to be an issue, the offender is ejected, and also is suspended for half the following game. This is the way the pros should handle it if they are serious. But, as mentioned above, if they really cared, there would be no Sunday-Thursday games.
