Outside party/function? Military protocol requires covers (hats) off if inside. Parties and similar inside functions requiring dress uniforms do not require covers.
Whenever I am watching a movie or TV show with the military (army) in it I am always watching for errors with uniforms or protocols. Obviously some of them don’t have military advisors.
