Governor Jerry Brown pointed out that far more FEDERAL land was burned in the recent fires after Trump slashed forest management budgets and that California has EXPANDED its forestry program.
About 60% of California forest land is managed by Trump’s federal government. About 33% is in private hands and only about 7% of forest land in California is managed by the state.
So if Trump wants to blame government policy (ignoring climate change), he is admitting the failure of HIS administration in forestry management.
From what I’ve read, seen on the news, and heard from friends, this cartoon is as insulting as the president’s remarks about forest management. The first responders and citizens of California are doing a great job against terrifying odds. They deserve better. (But since the fires are not {presently} threatening a Trump property, good luck with that.)
Cute. A thousand people unaccounted for. Over a hundred dead. And your comic depiction of our bear flag. We had to put up with Trump’s appearance and now this cartoon. Stuff you both.
Any other president would have declared the state a disaster area and offer sympathy and compassion for the victims and the survivors. Trump’s FIRST impulse is to condemn and criticize. He eventually was coerced into “feeling” something for the people and for his supporters that makes him a hero.
Maybe the reason he didn’t respond immediately was because of the weather or maybe he was busy making phone calls.

Boy, I’ll bet Gavin and Jerry had to bite their tongues half thru to keep quiet enough to get rid of that idiot.

The bear is actually ATTACKING the fire, not running from it.

Don’t worry about the bear. The California Grizzly Bear has been extinct for about a century.

And many other species will found to have taken losses when the ashes cool.
