The right to vote is a right of citizenship that must be allowed to all adult citizens with equality of access (14th Amendment) that cannot be denied or abridged on account of race (15th Amendment), gender (19th Amendment) or age if 18 or over (26th Amendment) or subject to a voting tax (24th Amendment).
This is an inherent right of citizenship. Period. The burden of proof is NOT on citizens to prove their rights of citizenship (in this case the right to vote; “show your papers!”); the burden of proof would be on anyone challenging the qualifications to vote.
Any voting standard that creates a different standard (either in ratio of voting locations to registered voters or in any other aspect of voter access) in differing precincts is unconstitutional and any election official or any other person who tries to use such tactics to disenfranchise targeted communities should be prosecuted for violations of civil rights.
Voter ID laws — especially those that are biased against PROgressive constituencies (accepting photo state-issued ID’s such as hunting licenses that favor gun-loving CONservatives, but not state-issued photo ID’s at state universities of PROgressive college students — attempt to put the burden on citizens to prove their rights rather than on the state to challenge them if probable cause to do so exists.
Native born moon men without street addresses are not allowed to vote…. here’s to you North Dakota, it wasn’t bad enough taking their land, let’s steal their vote…. got any salt?
Dropped mine off at the Courthouse in town, three miles from my house outside of town, or could have mailed it. But kind of the opposite situation from Dodge City, and we have WAY fewer voters.

Some of the obstacles the Republicans have use are just as bad as shone to the poor who don`t have transportation.
