I used to be completely in favor of the birthright citizenship. The more I hear of how people from all over are traveling to the US just to have their babies born here I am not so sure that I am still in favor of it. When I read about the birthright hotels popping up for Asians and well as other countries, and then the ones from Central and South America who sneak across at the last minute just so their child will be born here I am no longer so sure that I am in favor of it. I have also read several articles that have pointed out that the birthright issue may not have been settled by the 14th amendment as it has been assumed to have.
Not that I’m a fan of Paul Ryan’s by any means, but Trump saying that Ryan “knows nothing about” birthright citizenship is laughable. I lost count of how many times Trump said “who knew X was so complicated?”. Trump claims he knows everything which is always a great indicator of someone who will not seek to learn about anything and ignores those that are the real experts.

Pence is intelligent, knows how DC actually works and is even more right wing than Trump. Trump actually cares nothing for the presidency or the country other than other than to use it further his own business interests and inflate his ego. It’s a tossup which will do more damage in the next two years that will have to be repaired by the next Democratic president. I’m willing to bank on the less intelligent of the two doing less damage to the country, but then he is sending three soldiers to the boarder to intercept every three year old girl, so I’m a bit worried that he has the nuclear codes. I think Pence is at least intelligent enough not to destroy the world, not sure I believe that about Trump.

The Grand Jury concluded Nixon had committed indictable crimes—but that the matter was instead referred to the Judiciary Committee in the House. This record has been sealed for 44 years, and (like all Grand Jury proceedings) was supposed to be sealed in perpetuity. However, a former member of Nixon’s defense team and three prominent legal analysts filed lawsuits seeking its unsealing arguing the report could offer a precedent and guide for Mueller.
Mueller is wisely waiting until after the election, and then my guess is the referral will be made to the House. This clarifies the next steps in the probable impeachment and removal of the trump tumor. My sense of it is that it seems possible Pence and others in the trump orbit will be caught up in this as well, what with all the lying and criminality surrounding trump.

My guess is the money laundering and othe felonies involving Russia combined with evidence of conspiring with Russia will force even the regressive Senate to remove him. This will take time. Pence may or may not get caught up in it. The 2020 elections will be on us before Pence can do much more damage, especially with a Democratic House.
