Watching Graham and Grassley, among others, like Kavanaugh, made me think of those clips of folks coming from the dentist and high on nitrous oxide. Nope, those folks make more sense.
Its going to be fun watching the Republicans squirm as the 40 witnesses come out and tell their stories about the Male chauvinist pig they sat on the Supreme Court.
This depicts the Party celebrating putting a nasty drunk assaulter in to the Supreme Court. Remember how they all had beer after they thought they had their so-called health plan in place?? There they were with beer everywhere. This is the perfect picture of their party!!
I wonder if you Republicans are fully aware of what you’re doing. A democratic country cannot survive unless the people have confidence in its public institutions. And that’s gone.
The office of the president lost all respect and credibility after the Republicans continually and mindlessly attacked Clinton, then doubled down against Obama, and then elected a buffoon to the office. Congress is no longer respected as it gets nothing done, since politics is the art of compromise and the Newt, followed by the Republicans, made it clear they would obstruct everything the Democrats did, and gridlock resulted. The media had been declared the enemy of the people and every story they put out is fake news, higher education is now damned as being too liberal, and law enforcement guns people down in the streets while the FBI is seen as corrupt.
And what institution did you have left? The Courts. The one institution that still had a shred of decency and credibility that still followed the rule of law and the Constitution. And then you elevated a nakedly partisan hack to it to ensure it is now seen as the enforcement arm of the Republican party and no longer impartial.
And now you have nothing left. With no faith in the public institutions, your only recourse is to follow a dictator who will take control of everything. America is so over.
My worst nightmare has revealed itself to me and to many others (I think) But I still believe that there is a glimmer of sanity at the end of this horrifying bad dream, Voting out of office as many of those that have sought the end of our Democracy might just help us to keep the flame of sanity alive, Vote, Please don’t sit this one out, the future looks bleak and I would hate to see our human race disappear just by the reasons of not caring and not being a common sense person that still believes in hope and decency, I trust you, And not the entrenched old fossils that have putrefied our political arena, It is our country Them politicians work for us we pay them the best and most elevated salaries and they still don’t realize that we will raise above this sad moments in our collective lives, Vote your conscience but listen to your own inner gut that will guide you to better pastures and not to the colloquial “Swamp” Thanks for reading my today’s offering of a rant!
