Once again, while I very often (OK, usually) disagree on policy with true conservatives such as Jeff Flake and Susan Collins, kudos for being among the few Republicans who actually make an effort to be honorable and maintain a standard of integrity in living up to their party’s ideals.
Today, Flake and Collins stated that when they called for a one-week delay for an investigation, they meant a REAL investigation, not a fig leaf, and all relevant witnesses had to be included. And just as Trump responded immediately to their demand last Friday, after their statement Monday demanding that witness restrictions be lifted, Trump again immediately caved.
Flake, Collins and Lisa Murkowski are now holding the cards.
Trump is really going out of his way to praise Kavanaugh today and say he’s nothing to worry about, well, except that’s what Trump always does before he screws that person.
Everything except the Russian money laundered through Il Douche’s properties. He’s going to have to step in if they look at that! (Or if they look into Cosbynaugh’s past.)
Any sane President would have deep-sixed this nominee and moved on to a safer bet a couple of weeks ago. It’s all narcissism. He can’t let himself be defeated!
Not to worry….tRump can spin a loss into a win…..how.??..because…ummmm……the next candidate was the one he really wanted….K’s nomination was to appease …..someone…ummm….a few …uuummm….many, many people…..who said …. uuuummmm…..?? Well, this next guy is the bestest one….believe me!!!! Bwa-ha-ha-ha

A week is too short a time. Seems to me to take the President at his word. Take all the time they need. Then do so.

(with insincere apologies to Monty Python’s Spamalot):
This here’s a Senate hearing
So please control your leering
When rich young punk
Did deeds that stunk
‘Tis but a farce, I’m fearing
We’re judging Baby Kavanaugh
So should we vote him in? Hell, naw!
This here’s a Senate hearing
We don’t allow no smearing
His pervy past
We’ve tracked at last
And now the fog is clearing
We’re judging Baby Kavanaugh
He’s nothing but a walking flaw

Trump is hobbling the FBI, and then he’ll use that to attack them when they come after him.
