I am writing a book, “101 Reasons Why I’m Glad I’m Not a Girl.” Reason number 1 is being able to pee standing up: the world is your urinal. Reason 101 is not having to find a bag to match my shoes.
In between are 99 more reasons: some trivial as above and some serious health, sociological and peer issues. Actually there will probably be more than 101 reasons.
Don’t get me wrong: I love women. The world would be lot duller without them, but it is a lot easier being a man and I’m smart enough to know it. I am male-privileged: I don’t apologize for it; I don’t defend it; I just do my part not to perpetuate it.
My wife knows about this “book” that I am writing and when the discussion turns to women’s issues, I will blurt out a number like “Reason 74” and she gets what I mean. This one would probably come in in the top half. I spend about 3-5 seconds doing my hair every morning. I imagine a bald man spends even less.
