Jeff Sessions was the first U.S. SENATOR to endorse Trump (the first two congressmen to endorse him have now been indicted by Trump’s Justice Department for felonies).
Trump became wildly popular among Southern Rednecks, which was quite a trick for a “yank” from New York City to pull off, but Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III — one of their own — was the one who endowed him with credibility. Also, Jeff Sessions’ Chief of Staff was Stephen Miller, who went on to become a high level minister of POOPaganda for the Trump White House.
But Sessions, for all his racism and effectiveness in carrying out Trump policies on immigration, detention, curtailing rights, etc., committed the one unpardonable sin — he recused himself from the investigation of Trump’s CONspiracy with Russia to steal the election, and he only did that after he was found having lied under oath in his confirmation hearings about HIS OWN ROLE in that collusion.
Scott, you could run that same cartoon only using Rafael Eduardo Cruz, the smarmy Senator from Texas, or Ryan, McConnell, and any number of Republican legislators or members of the administraton.
It won’t be that long before all of these people are swearing that they never really backed Trump, but were members of the group of “heros” who acted subservient to him in public but were secretly undermining him every chance they got. It’s the only way the Republicans have a chance to survive Trump’s damage to their party, and the only out for those who served him.

That is pathetic. How much more of a toady little yes man does Trump want? Only Don Jr. would be more of a suck up.
