And even after even more abuses by the clergy, parents will still ignore and refuse to admit the evils of the Catholic Church and willingly and happily hand over their. Hildren to these monsters. They would rather subject their children to mental and physical abuses than admit their religious fealty is misplaced.
Just saw an article about how the Catholic Church has a monopoly over the schools in Ireland and this means many who aren’t religious are pressured into having their children baptized and lying about their real views. I would expect many to leave the country to raise a family given the situation over there.
Religion is a tool that can help one find his spirituality, his sense of well-being, his place in the universe. Like most tools is can be used, as it so often is today (and has been in the past) as a weapon, a device to control the behavior of others. Like any tool, it is neither evil nor good, only useful. Religion used to force others to live in a way they don’t choose for themselves is inherently a wrongful use of it. If not religion, evil men—such as those controlling the U.S. right now—will use laws, the courts, armed force or whatever achieves their purpose. Witch hunts were used by religion to control people just as McCarthyism and Trumpism do. Evil people will use whatever means necessary to get their way. No use blaming God—no one on this planet has the mental tools necessary to begin to understand that concept intellectually. Therefore, whatever God is, it can’t be used as an excuse, whether we believe in it or not.

They say children are resilient, but it’s not true. The pain goes on forever. They just learn to act “normal”. #metoo

The children are supposed to be prayed over not preyed upon.

Remember, this was 1000 kids from Pennsylvania alone. There must be tens of thousands across the country.
