The thing about these dream sequences I don’t like much is that there are no stakes. I guess that’s something C&H handled a little better, because it was never firmly established if Hobbes was purely a figment of Calvin’s imagination or actually came to life. If a stuffed animal could be a lifeform, maybe Calvin really did transmogrify himself.
