What a load of tosh! California is progressive in its own right. So we aren’t turning back the calendar to 1960.

We’ve got electric, we’ve got hydrogen and we’ve got bio-diesel. Unfortunately, we also have idiots like Payne who disparage any and all progress.

I was raised in Los Angeles. Back then almost every house had an incinerator in the back yard. As a kid, it was my job to take the trash out, and put a match to it. At the end of the day, you could take a deep breath and your lungs would hurt. Red eyes were the norm. The state did a great job in cleaning this up in an area where a low inversion layer is the norm. Shame on them L.A. can go back to having air like that which is found in Beijing. I lived in West Covina in 1966 (I was 15), nearly all of my opinions on the environment began to percolate that year. On a clear day you could, all most, make out the freeway on ramp.

I spent time at Edwards AFB about 1980. The LA smog was greatly reduced but I still could see the gray murk coming into Antelope Valley through the mountain passes. Make America Great Again, indeed.
