I was raised in Los Angeles. Back then almost every house had an incinerator in the back yard. As a kid, it was my job to take the trash out, and put a match to it. At the end of the day, you could take a deep breath and your lungs would hurt. Red eyes were the norm. The state did a great job in cleaning this up in an area where a low inversion layer is the norm. Shame on them L.A. can go back to having air like that which is found in Beijing. Pain, you are very intelligent – snerk
I lived in West Covina in 1966 (I was 15), nearly all of my opinions on the environment began to percolate that year. On a clear day you could, all most, make out the freeway on ramp.
I love the smell of internal combustion in the morning… that’s the smell of freedom! My granddaddy’s car used gas, my daddy’s car used gas and, dadgummit, my car uses gas. Gas now and gas forever!
Stupider and stupider. If you don’t like it in California, I’m sure you can find a place in West Virginia with smog, hazy skies and coal slurry rivers, Henry. Find a brain and use it.
I spent time at Edwards AFB about 1980. The LA smog was greatly reduced but I still could see the gray murk coming into Antelope Valley through the mountain passes. Make America Great Again, indeed.
I wonder if Henry is being held prisoner in the cellar of the White House. I can’t imagine someone writing such drivel without the threat of waterboarding, etc.

What a load of tosh! California is progressive in its own right. So we aren’t turning back the calendar to 1960.

We’ve got electric, we’ve got hydrogen and we’ve got bio-diesel. Unfortunately, we also have idiots like Payne who disparage any and all progress.

I think Payne is afraid he is going to run out of gas for him to sniff.

Henry, I would like to know what you have against clean air and conservation?

Senseless exaggeration. Enjoy your climate change. Oh wait, we already are.

Henry Payne will fell much better when he transfers his stocks from the oil industry to renewable energy.

I can remember when States Rights was a central tenet of conservatives instead of Trump Tweets.
