Oh come on, Ted. You know darn well that if the Democrats were to take firm, bold stands on economic issues that resonate with voters, they’d risk their corporate donors turning off the money spigot. The only thing they have left to run on is fear mongering against Trump and Russia.
Why don’t you take action against the Republicans? I was watching an exchange between a Republican and Democratic strategist. The former immediately starts talking about voter fraud. Does the latter reply by pointing out gerrymandering and voter suppression? Nope, you guessed it, instead he brought up Russian interference. One recent poll of Democrats had a majority of respondents believing that the perfidious Russkies actually changed people’s votes. Well done, establishment media! As for why the Dems aren’t going after the real enemy of US democracy, Mr. Allen has given us one possible (probable?) reason.
I’m with Ted, sort of, on this one. The Democrats DO need a good kick in the pants. They are ignoring the issues to pursue the Russian question. But that Russian thing? It’s still a real problem and needs to be dealt with. We’re going to have to do BOTH.
Ted, the issue is whethe trump and his minions actively helped the Russians. The fact of their interference is just that. The fact of trump’s involvement is now coming out. What’s so hard to understand about that? It’s about treason.
Of course militarism stays. In the recent House NDAA vote ($715 billion, more than double what it was before 2001), almost every Republican voted for it – and 2/3 of the Democrats.
And in other news someone might be getting much needed medical attention thru a Go Fund Me account since the govt doesn’t’ care if taxpayers live or die.
Democratic Party needs to talk about and REALLY support economic issues for the middle class and poor. Stop taking corporate payoffs and use technology to talk about supporting Social Security, Medicare, medicaid and all of the other supports for those who need it. Give people a reason to go out and vote. When the choices are “complete support for the wealthy while promoting discrimination of those ‘not like you’” and “we talk about income inequality yet take corporate money so we don’t do anything” then the Repubs vote and the Dems don’t.
Of course Russia is relying on one of the Dear Leader’s favorite tactics, Making It Up. They’re dropping electronic propaganda leaflets with fake sources. Is that more important than the serious domestic problems we’re facing? That’s a separate question.
I volunteer with a campaign and have access to Votebuilder, the Democratic database of registered voters. We are receiving donations from people who are not registered voters— if they were they would be on the list, because it is the same info that the election boards have in each jurisdiction. It seems unlikely to me that someone who donates isn’t interested enough to have registered to vote, so I have suspicions about their omission. You can look up your country election board online at most places, and make sure your name is listed ( and find out about your neighbors while you’re at it). It’s all public record. If your county doesn’t have the names listed, you will at least be able to get a phone number and call them to be sure you are on the list. Don’t assume that you are registered. Voter purges occur regularly, and if you show up to vote and aren’t registered, it’s going to be too late.

Sorry, the actual answer is that they changed the totals in key districts to throw the election to DJT.

Ted, you have grown extremely annoying with your constant drumbeat of false equivalency. You used to be better’n this.

Ted Rall spends almost as much time defending Trump, attacking the Democrats, and trying to discredit the Russia investigation as Trump himself.
