Finding his knife took over an hour, considering all the mud they kicked up, and the poor visibility. Upon discovering it, Tarzan realized that he had left Henri face down in the water the entire time.

Henri although a despicable cad, still rates a fireman’s carry, Tarzan should have just dragged him through the mud by his collar.

What, no crocodiles for Henri???!!! Tarzan can testify against Henri, but I don’t think he really has any hard evidence…unless one of Henri’s lackeys is willing to corroborate Tarzan’s version of events. I still think the crocs would have been a better ending for Henri.

Interesting that ERB calls him “the Frenchman” instead of just “him” or “the man”. Could ERB have something against the French, or is he just coloring up the narrative a bit?

Henri has to be pretty heavy with all of that waterlogged clothing and water filled boots.

It would appear that Henri is impaled on the back ends of Tarzan’s arrows.

A near-death blackout experience does wonders for one’s left cross, turning it into a lethal haymaker.
