you learn to juggle with silk handkerchiefs so you can get the hang of the way to move your hands, then you work your way up to lightweight balls so you don’t have to worry about dropping them. Once you master THAT, then you can juggle fragile or dangerous stuff, it’s functionally the same thing but looks more impressive.
When I juggled as a hobby my most difficult was a silk hankie, a ping-pong ball and a bowling ball. My most impressive looking was three kukris (wide bladed knifes from Nepal).
