A wise response there from Curly’s (Garry’s?) dad . Said it so well his own son is repeating it.

Um, I don’t know where that idea came from, but marketers use teens in focus groups a lot. There are many, MANY companies out there that cater to teens, but are NOT run by teens. They need to know how their products and services will be received.

And trust me, there are few things in the universe MORE focused than a teenager who feels that they have been cheated or lied to. The universe revolves around them, after all.

How did we all survive that period of self-absorbed, suicidal, know-it-all stupidity?

One of my earliest medical library requests was for articles on attention deficit disorder in adolescents. With my findings I told the doc, “I’ve taught Jr. High students. Attention deficit in adolescents isn’t a disorder – it’s baseline.”

Corps concentrate on teens because they are future customers. Most consumer surveys target the. 18-45 age groups. The rest of us are Curmudgeians!
