That looks like a nasty ingrown.
I used to say, “Old age is when the ear hair is growing faster than you’re willing to pluck it”.
May need to change that to when you can’t see them to pluck them.
If the hair was that long when you finally noticed it you are WAY overdue for a pair of glasses!
