This is horrible. Women and children are fleeing a repressive country where their lives are being threatened. What do we do, we rip children from their mothers, even very young infants and send them to foster care facilities for years while they wait for a court hearing. In court the asylum seekers are not entitled to a lawyer, they must present their own cases, even the infants. Instead of a beacon of freedom, we are becoming very evil.
Since there’s absolutely no justification for what this country’s government and administration is doing to these poor children and their parents who looked to us to save them from the evils of their own governments… We will never be able to justify ripping children from their parents arms because their parents brought them here to save them from death and destruction in their own countries. Sickening!!!! There is no way anyone can justify these actions although we have evangical Christians and ALT Reich Trump supporters and Bots and trolls who will do their best because they can’t see the immorality of this policy propagated by our government’s spineless and morally deficient officials.
my understanding is that those detention centers are horrific and an insult to our Constitution. they have been even under Obama and the fact that Trump and Sessions want to round up more people and make the system less accountable and spend less on lawyers doing what minimum that they can to help them get some sort of due process in a reasonable amount of time while being detained in facilities that aren’t fit for human beings – that at worst have committed a misdemeanor offense, is highly disturbing.
‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ . . .And these shall go away into everlasting punishment. Mt.25:44 ff
