I find that living in that moment helps me be hopeful for the next moment. We’re together now…and now…and now…

If I were in her situation, I’m afraid they would have to drag me out of that chair; and, kicking and screaming out of the room – if I had the energy to kick and scream.

It’s interesting from the perspective of being on the bed. I was in for a week and a half – should’ve been 3 days but for some complications. My wife was there all day, every day (she needed to feed the cats & get some sleep while I slept). That was my only (sometimes tenuous) connection with reality. Love ya more, Nini.

When my husband had west nile in 2004, I spent two weeks in his room, 23 hours a day. When they came in to bathe him and change his bed I went home and showered and changed. He pulled through.

So, in addition to blood clots, he’ll have bed sores from being in the same position for 35 hours.
