the pub here in my city actually has a wall of shame, people who run up the tab and run out the door at a time it’s busy. The camera takes a picture of the “runner” and posts it at the bar.
I didn’t mind when Andy stopped smoking ( started to smoke when I was 14 years old, and quit a week later). What I miss is the flavorful language, and the rest of Andy’s personality (he is more than just a boozer, and more than just an idle layabout). And, speaking of the good old days, when was the last time we saw Andy flirting with a barmaid? (When was the last time we saw a barmaid?)
Part of the reason Andy stopped smoking was as an example to children. However, even without the cigarettes, Andy isn’t really a good role model. (e.g. Drinking, fighting.) It should be noted that lousy role models make funny characters, though.

Perhaps it’s time to stop letting Andy run up a tab. By now, they know it never gets paid.

I have never encountered a pub that gives credit….. especially the one I managed.

He doesn’t even have a red nose or wobbly gait yet. He needs more ale!

Have we met the barman in The Riveters?
I find it a bit dramatic when people post on Facebook things such as “Had a s*** day. Time to get the wine out”
First sign of becoming an alcoholic right there…
