Yes, I want you to “watch” a book. I want you to watch the entire book, one word at a time, each in order, and in fairly rapid succession. Hopefully by the end of the first page, this will become an almost natural process. If you do it right, by the time you finish “watching” the book, you’ll feel like you were really there.
Brutus is saying this to a kid that’s not loaded down with electronic games, cell phone, etc? What pray tell, would he do if he actually went outside and “played” ?

No one ever says “I want you to TRY a book”. You’d always say READ a book.
