A minor point, here. Xi Jinping has assumed an absolute role in the government of China – he can, on his own say-so, control Chinese markets. If he want to enforce a 100% tariff on American agricultural products, he can – and if starving 100 million people is the result, then so be it, China has plenty to spare and it wouldn’t be the first time this has happened – research the great “Cultural Revolution” of Mao Zedong for more.

Donnie, on the other hand, doesn’t have nearly that big a stick. Walmart is close to 90% Chinese goods and guess where the majority of Donnie’s ardent supporters do their shopping? And guess where the majority of Donnie’s $150 billion in tariffs are going to hit? Most everything Walmart and the other cut-rate stores are going to INCREASE in price at the same time those same people are going to feel the pinch in their paychecks due to China no longer spending $150 billion on importing American goods.

When Donnie said that trade wars were easy to win, you should have asked the question, “For whom?”
