I’m not quite sure how getting the prisoner will prevent them from having their strength away. Tarzan never said he was going to destroy the garden. I guess they are too high to think clearly. After all, they are the ones that allowed the head to head contest in the first place.
That last panel shows Tarzan’s professionalism. It’s what makes him Lord of the Jungle. He feeds the villain to his own carnivorous plant and gets ready to scoot but still has time to arm himself. With the bad guys own bow and arrows.
