I don’t see the original date on this, but Josh Johnson held number 55 from 2005 to 2012, longer than anyone else. Two Marlins have had it since, so I guess there’s no plan to retire it anytime soon.
And so the Gilchrist era ends, not with a bang (although the filthy-minded might wonder just WHAT Nancy and Sluggo are rushing off to do), but with Phil whimpering… ;D
