I know this is a comic, but it’s intended to signify that Jesus is the king of the living and the dead.

Gold is for royalty, frankincense was used to anoint newborns and myrrh was used to anoint people who are deceased.

How come he got those valuables when he was born, yet ten years later his mother and his adoptive father were poor and he had to learn the family trade of carpentry?

I liked the Gene Weingarten take. “You fool; babies have no use for gold.” “Yeah, what did you bring?” “Myrrh.” “What’s that?” “A fragrant resin.” “Oh, MUCH better.”

It always amazes me that even when there’s a joke about, oh, clowns and plumbers, for example, somebody out there will start an argument between liberals and conservatives, Trumpers and Obamaites, etc. I suspect people who do this have so much frustration and rage they get triggered in the silliest places. Like a comic strip comment space. Have a funny day, folks!
