I had a kitty like that. His name was Meanie. They get over stimulated and react the only way they can. I could pet him 2-3 times and he would give a low growl and if I persisted I would get a slap. I learned to respect his personal space and we got along fine. I would never get rid of a pet for that reason. You guys are the meanies!
He was also orphaned at about 3 weeks. If he had been with his mother till he was weaned she would have taught him manners. He never covered his poop in the litter box, she would have taught him that too.
