I wish people would stop calling him dumb. G W Bush isn’t an idiot. It’s just that he doesn’t have to care. He knows someone will be there to do the work or bail him out, just as they have his entire life. He may be spoiled, lazy, and disinterested, but he’s not dumb.
Dumb, hard to tell with the stumble-bum speechs and persistent gaffs. Dumb, maybe not, perhaps his “down-to-earth” manner of speaking was an act.
One thing for sure, he effectively assisted the extremely wealthy to acquire from the middle class and poor their jobs and money. Don’t say he didn’t, check out the tax cuts for the rich.
I firmly believe he is/was the WORST president this county has ever had to suffer through.
Lalo is wrong.
Bush didn’t put America in trouble.
Bush put the whole World in trouble.
I don’t know Bush personnally, but it is quite possible that he was dumb. Now, presidents don’t need brains to get elected, they just need a good image. Smart people are called “elitists” by the electorate.
“W” only implemented Reagan’s policies with a penchant, and disregarded his own dad’s corrections, then made his own mistakes, only far worse- and now covers them up and passes blame to who, Roger Rabbit is next?
“W” is NOT an idiot- 25-50 IQ is only a moron.
As a friend pointed out last night, in graduate school, being a “C” student equals getting “F”s.
@Dr Canuck I was good at Jeopardy 20 years ago but now I can’t keep up. I was really good at scrabble but have not played in 25 years.
Funny how that “make a living” thing works?
Dumb can be relative. He probably has the intelligence to handle a lot of jobs. As President of the most complex, difficult-to-run country in the world, he was dumb.
For me the epithome of how he was perceived was that he tried giving the chancelor of Germany a back rub - something that can get one ran out of a job. Now, had the US president been anyone else, it would have probably caused a huge scandal - but for Bush Jr, stuff like that was pretty much expected.
None of the now plentiful experts could see it coming. Working class people could see it and fear the consequences but not the experts. Now even financial prophet Ben Stein is alarmed…he must have lost money and become a sorehead.

His sabre rattling provoked the 9/11 attack.

lowCbass, Lalo Alcaraz was born in San Diego. He’s an American. A Mexican-American, but an American, same as Obama and McCain.
Comments like the above make you look like a bigot.

^ Grade inflation, post “send the dummies to Vietnam to be killed for no reason.”
You know those word jumbles in the paper? They go back almost 30 years.
I used to do those in less than a minute with people watching.
Clinton did crossword puzzles in ink in 2 minutes, which I could not do in a weekend.
Bush, other than delegate to Cheney???
Obama has eleoquence, confidence, and he certainly can think on his feet. Six more years, YAY!
