I remember when the Republicans (Eisenhower) were progressives, … supported unions and immigrants too.

Remember when the GOP was the Law and Order party?

Now they have a criminal for president who loves Putin and hates the FBI.

How Did Carter Page (Who had been taking money from the Russians since 2013) Know Last October That Paul Ryan Would Release The Memo??

    Reagan: Iran-Contra. Nixon – Watergate.

.So much for “law and order”

.Ford: in his autobiography, he took pride in saying he convinced Clinton to sign NAFTA. Not illegal of course, but it’s funny that the Repubs blame Clinton for NAFTA when they wrote it and pushed for it in the first place.

Reagan looks deer-in-headlights. Are those little angel wings? Ah, the age of relative innocence.

If the FBI is colluding against the Trump administration, why would Comey thwart Hillary’s election chances days before the election by “disclosing” a contrived revelation ?

40,000 FISA warrants requested. 21 FISA requests denied. This makes the proverbial Grand Jury ham sandwich indictment look like the inquisition.

Do any of you honestly believe that the FBI and other agencies are that good? That honest? That they never push the envelope in their requests? Are the judges all incompetent? Do they trust our agencies so much that they just rubber stamp everything?

I suspect that this memo is the tip of an iceberg that stretches back through several administrations. Possibly even before 9-11 (FISA enacted in 1978). I suggest to you that we need to open the files on ALL warrants issued to surveill US citizens on US soil.

So why did the GOP’ers vote FOR the renewal of the FISA?

They can’t be THAT worried about it.

Ford was just as dirty as Nixon, just not as publicized. He does not deserve any wings in this cartoon.

@andylit…I try never to ascribe to conspiracy what can easily be explained by stupidity or ignorance. Draw your own conclusions about that statement.

The FISA court’s surveillance power is granted upon submission of evidence. In this case, Carter Page was involved with the Russians back in 2013, and deserved the surveillance. Are there abuses? Maybe, but not very many. There are a lot of people whose observable behavior is a threat to America. Like, Paul Manafort, Carter Page and Vlad Putin. For that matter like trump himself.

My guess is that, years before his divisive political career, trump’s Russian money laundering had become a subject of discussion among law enforcement in the US Attorney’s office in NYC. That’s why trump fired Preet Bharara, the federal prosecutor in charge. Though Bharara is now working with Mueller, thank goodness.

About disclosing all FISA warrants, all I can say is you must be joking, or a Russian troll. You want to make public all our counterintelligence efforts?

That’s sure patriotic. I suppose you want all our spies and informers dead, too, right?

Reagan wouldn’t remember if he had told him. That room in hell sure does have a lot of clouds in it.
