Actually, under Reagan, a number of Orwell’s visions did come true, in 84.

Again Mr. Payne? Either you are that thick about global warming, or you just like getting reactions. I have to go by the face of it and assume you just refuse to learn about it.

Lying Henry. Most of the northern hemisphere is warmer than the average for 1979-2000 for this day.

You want the temperature anomaly, so click on that text. If you drag your mouse over other optional plots, you get those plots.

And it is not exactly freezing in Australia, Henry. Global Warming, Henry

Henry has moved from the four legs good, two legs better.

He’s now four legs bad, two legs good.

    Didn’t take long.

Wild variations in local weather were actually predicted as part of the climate-change model. My modest tax-reduction will be more than consumed by the rise in premiums for health-care; on a fixed income, that is brutal. There are more limits on free-speech than the acquisition of firearms in most places.

Yes there is record cold in the Eastern US, but it is warm out west. Some friends of mine went to Breckenridge and they were making artificial snow there.

… and there are record HIGH temps in Australia right now.

    That’s why it’s called “Global”.

As someone else above said, you could read up on it and educate yourself Mr. Payne before spouting ridiculous denier comments …

I first read 1984 in high school, 40 some million years ago. It shocked me then. Last week I decided to make it my New Years book. So far what shocks me is how little I understood it then. How it wasn’t just commentary on the government, which is all I saw at 15. 1984 is commentary on society. We don’t need the government spying and watching us with accusing glares. We do it to ourselves and each other.

There comes a point when ignorance is not excusable. Payne has reached that point.

The big takeaway from “1984” was “double think” and “double speak”: thinking and saying one thing while meaning the opposite. Like taking away people’s healthcare to preserve someone’s freedom. Or advocating the benefits of a free market while actually trying to keep it from working like advocating coal and oil vs. renewable energy. Or depriving a group of their civil rights to protect someone’s “deeply held beliefs”.

Payne’s cartoons remind me of the man who asked a friend if his turn signal was working. The friend said, "Yes it is, no it’s not, yes it is…

The class hierarchy of Oceania has three levels:

    (I) the upper-class Inner Party, the elite ruling minority, who make up 2% of the population.(II) the middle-class Outer Party, who make up 13% of the population.(III) the lower-class Proletariat, who make up 85% of the population and represent the uneducated working class. As the government, the Party controls the population with four ministries:

the Ministry of Peace deals with war and defence.the Ministry of Plenty deals with economic affairs (rationing and starvation).the Ministry of Love deals with law and order (torture and brainwashing).the Ministry of Truth deals with news, entertainment, education and art (propaganda).

Wow! This comic is so “meta”! It’s commenting how Orwellian current times are, except it’s mentioning all the things that are, in fact, NOT Orwellian and calling them Orwellian, while failing to mention everything that is Orwellian!

    Now THAT’S Orwellian!

Republican Doublespeak – Man doesn’t affect the climate despite scientific evidence, Tax cuts to the rich will help the poor despite economic evidence, The President who wants to stop books from being published and attacks the media is for free speech despite what we have all seen with our eyes.

Your toon is funny for Trump supporters, but like all regressive Republicans doublespeak, you are just telling more lies.
