I think that the “base” has brainwashed itself. All the republicans had to do was learn the command words.

One of the contradictory things in our opposing party system is that congress has given themselves the power to abstain to effect the outcome but not given it to the voter in the same utility.

We need either NOTA that counts or IRV to return power from the parties back to the people.

By cutting taxes on the rich, the government will have less money for social programs. Its been a long term Republican plan to end all government services for Americans.

There is more nonsense published about this tax cut than anything but Bigfoot. For the next ten years, virtually all the working class and middle class gets a major tax break, and the so called rich get a tax break as well, but less of them and proportionately less. You are all seriously misinformed and talking from political doctrine rather than consulting the actual break down of who will pay what. The Dems claim it will put more taxes on the middle class — but they don’t tell you that this isn’t for another ten years. In ten years Congress, whichever party is in charge will renew this break — if they want to be re elected.

The typical conservative voter is slightly better educated than the average leftist voter. An overwhelming proportion of high school dropouts vote Dem. Average GOP income is also higher. So of course we’re stupid. There is more nonsense published about this tax cut than anything but Bigfoot. The republican party is not the party of fiscal responsibility, every Democratic president for the last 40 years has fiscally cleaned up after the previous Republican president. Trump is spending more and making the deficit larger than President Obama did. The Republicans have made the reach of the government larger, expanding big government past where Obama did. The GOP has proven with women assaulters, child molesters and an administration full of indictments that they are not ethical. The Democrats have ethically taken care of their members who have been assaulting women, being the party with more ethics than the Republicans. The foreign policy of Trump is the most irresponsible – there are intelligence advisory boards with no members, his National Strategy deserves to be ignored – he claims and fails to provide a plan to keep Americans safe. By putting America first, Trump has managed to put us last. Something no Republican or Democrat has tried to do.
