Merry Christmas! Oh, how many times have I wanted an early release from something. Good one, Agnes. I think the priest knows Agnes all too well.

I thought those tires were too bald to look at Christmas lights!

Sorry, Agnes. It’s what I say every time Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. When that happens, Christmas Eve is the last Sunday of Advent. As Catholics, we’re obligated to still go to Sunday Mass. You can go to a Christmas Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve night, but if Christmas Eve is on a Sunday, there are no twofers. You can’t go to the Vigil Mass and expect to take care of both your Sunday obligation and Christmas Day.

Did we ever find out if this was a “socks” year or an “underwear” year?

“God” gave me a lifetime pass at the age of fourteen and I haven’t been back since (my dad said if I’d go until I was confirmed – to please my mother – I didn’t have to go to Mass anymore, and I haven’t. Haven’t missed it, either.)
