I’ve often wondered – did a typical 50s household go through so many brushes that selling them on a door to door basis was a viable business model, or did it just exist in pop culture?

Fuller Brush – they did door-to-door sales until the mid-80s, if the online sources are to be believed… still around too.

There was a “Ragman” who came down our alley , selling rags from his push cart. Who needs a rag?
