I was alive, and an adult, but I don’t remember guys growing beards. I might have tried, but since I’m female, I doubt that it would have worked! :-D
I think I had one back about that time, but it was brown, not silver like it is today.
I grew one out in ’74 but I grew tired of the constant trimming and it all got shaved off save the mustache which has stayed on. Of course it is white now to match the thinning hair on top.
Hubby stopped shaving when he retired. He’s part First Nations, so he always looks as if the moths have been at him, but I love him anyway!
He could be Santa Claus.
