Having done my share of shoveling snow. Along with the bad back. And the fact that I’m not 20 any more, (I’m in denial of that fact, but my body says differently). I’d be looking at mechanical-powered snow-blower too.

Days with NO-Pain is worth a few extra dollars if one lives where there is a lot of winter snow fall. (Fortunately, I live in a nice warm valley in Oregon where the locals go bonkers if 1/2" of snow falls to the ground.)

Used to look at power tools of all kinds with great longing but now I have reached the point where they no longer interest and are being shoved out the door to much younger eager beavers.

One thing moderns are learning is that the newest and shiniest can also be the most frustrating and useless until all the bugs are fixed. Finding the older, more reliable models that have had all the necessary upgrades is becoming a real treasure hunt.

It has been 5 years since we have had more snow than can be cleared with a broom. Clear out the rust and corrosion, relubricate everything, tune up, add fresh fuel, and test start your blowers now, because they aren’t going to start in their current condition when it’s cold.

I have decided my SnowBlower has joined a union; it starts in the fall when I bring it up to the garage from the shed, but when the snow is deep it refuses to start.

Whenever there is a machine available to do the work, get the machine and let it do the work.

So, Rose…I guess you take your laundry to the local stream and beat it on a rock, eh? No!? You have a WASHING MACHINE!!?! OK, well, then you chop your own wood for the kitchen stove, right? WHAT! You have a gas stove that turns itself on and off? WHOA!! Well then, I’m sure you take your rugs outside to beat them twice a year, right? SAY WHAT!? You have a VACUUM CLEANER??? Lady, quit giving your husband the hairy eyeball over a snowblower. Period.

Considering all my kids are grown up and I’m too old to shovel, I should buy one of those.
